The device simply plugs into the overhead stereo camera on your 2024 Subaru Crosstrek in the same way it's shown in the Subaru Outback video below.

One key difference is with the location of the bolts. Instead of being in the sunglasses compartment, there is a small trim plate that must be removed to access Phillips head screws. The trim plate removal process is similar to the process shown in the AE026 install video for the 2019 Forester. The remainder of the installation is more similar to the Outback video.

Essential on a Subaru Crosstrek

The sluggish display on my 2025 Crosstrek prevented me from hitting the button to disable the auto-stop before I took off for work. The engine would stop at the foot of my driveway every morning. This was so annoying!
My Autostop Eliminator arrived today and I was excited to install it and try it out. Installation was relatively easy. Taking off the plastic covers on the 2025 just requires thumping in the right place a couple of times. Unplug the connector and plug this in place, then secure with the zip tie to keep it from rattling. Reinstallig the plastic covers is easier than taking them off.
On the first time starting up with the AE installed, the vehicle started with autostart disabled... awesome. I took it for a short drive and tested it a few times. Every time the vehicle starts, autostart is initialized to the last state it was in before shutting the vehicle down. With the incredibly sluggish display on a Subaru (10 seconds or more unresponsiveness, even to the message you must acknowledge every time you drive), the autostart state is initialized before you even see the button on the display.
In summary, Autostart Eliminator is an essential accessory for the Subaru Crosstrek.

The instructions (video of the Outback install) are not useful.

The ASE works fine, but your instructional video isn't helpful at all on a Crosstrek. Thankfully your main competitor has a good video on YouTube.

Easy installation, works like a champ!

Installation of this autostop eliminator was really simple on my Subaru Crosstrek with the help of a YouTube video which is easily found with a search. Just pop off the overhead cover, unscrew two screws, unplug the camera, plug the device in, stuff it back in the cavity, and reinstall the covers. Pro tip: the installation of this device is much easier if you wear a headlamp to see up in there, since you'll have both hands occupied. It remembers my setting for auto start/stop and I never have to worry about manually doing it again! Well worth the money. I plan on getting another one to do the same on my Subaru Outback.
