Stop-Start, or Autostop, or ESS, or Idle Stop & Go is a system on a majority of modern cars which cuts the engine off when the car is stationary in order to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. In hybrid vehicles, this system may shut down the combustion engine when the car is cruising at low throttle loads and when descending gradients, as well as decelerating from higher speeds. The engine starts up again when the brake is released, the clutch is engaged or when the driver begins to move and accelerate again.

Auto-Stop feature, there is no benefit to this feature, this is being forced on to the consumer and could potentially cause damage to the starter. The so-called gas savings would never cover the cost of new starter and labor to have it installed. This is more government B S that pure common sense should tell you this needs to stop. Manufactures should come up with or know how to fix this if the customer wants to bypass this AUTO STOP feature.
